        DON’T Regret MOM  (Written Oct 21st, 2017)



“Getting closer to mom is going to look different for each of us.  The point is you can only get closer to her today and I say that because we don’t know if you will be around tomorrow or she will be around tomorrow.  And that’s why I say to get started with your 21-day hugging journey today within the next 21-hours.  



If it comes up to you that you aren’t as close to your mom as you want to be - you are the only one who can change that.  Planning it may be on day 1 saying to her "I am going on a 21 day journey because I want to get closer to you; this is a hugging journey about getting closer to you.  Can we plan some special things over the 3 weeks to spend time together?"  I am reading this book and it is talking to me about living how tomorrow isn’t promised. This is one example of how to really throw yourself into your life.  



Now you may thinking of various objections, like my mom lives in Iceland or I work 80 hours a week.  That is all relevant and at the same time that’s where you start to plan how can you make this work - because you are way too powerful to let the relationship with your mom slip away day after day, and don’t fool yourself and think that it’s not hurting your quality of life. 



Note 2020:  You can get closer to mom and get closure even if you have lost your mother.  This is one of the many options to explore on a 21-day hugging journey in which you journal to her each day.
